Obituary

Christopher Waymon Gartman was born on December 20, 1962 to Carolyn Green Gartman and the late Waymon T. Gartman in Longview, Tx. Chris graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1981 and also attended the Stephen F. Austin University. In December of 1983, he accepted a position with the United States Postal Service as a city letter carrier. He was a conscientious worker who dutifully served in his job 36 years in January 2020. On June 18, 1988, Chris symbolized his dedication to Jehovah by water baptism in Fort Worth, Tx. He loved Jehovah God, engaging in the door-to-door ministry as a footstep follower of Jesus Christ. As a member of the Lancaster Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, he served as a ministerial servant and was later appointed as an elder. He faithfully cared for these responsibility until his death on September 18, 2022. Chris met April Lynettte Law, the love of his life, and they were married on July 27, 2002. The couple shared 20 wonderful years together in Waxahachie, Texas. Chris was a loving husband, father ,grandfather, son, brother ,and friend. He was a loyal, committed and dedicated diligent worker who was always willing to help others. His interests were playing vintage video games, he liked anything sci fi especially Star Trek , camping, he loved being on the ocean and going on vacation. He really enjoyed building computers, riding motorcycles and was particularly good at fixing things. He was known for telling "Dad" jokes, singing karaoke, and playing card games. He looked forward each year to attending conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses, including international conventions which gave him the opportunity to dress up and look sharp. Chris is preceded in death by his father Waymon T. Gartman, daughter, Miranda Gartman, aunt and uncle Ann & Durwood Butler, uncle John Swizdaryk; grandparents Ruth & Floyd Gartman and Lovina & Melvin Green. Christopher is survived by his loving wife, April Gartman of Waxahachie, TX; mother, Carolyn Gartman of Anderson, SC; step-mother Karon Gartman of Chireno, TX; son, Logan Gartman of Kemah TX; brother, Randall Gartman and wife Bridget of Anna,TX; granddaughter Stormy Borth of Sioux Falls, SD; sister, Kristen Gartman of Houston, TX; cousin, Mike Butler & wife Karen of Chireno, TX; aunt, Judy Swizderyk of Anderson, SC; cousins, John Swizderyk & wife Jennifer of Anderson, SC; Jackie McCall and husband Ben of Anderson, SC; Jenny Piel & husband Austyn of Anderson, SC; nephew, Dillon Gartman and wife Leslie of Anna, TX; nieces Amber Coughlin and husband Kain of Allen, TX; Sabra Weeks and husband John of Plano, TX and Emily Gartman of Allen, TX; 4 great nieces, 1 great-nephew, 9 second cousins and five dogs.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 4:00 PM Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses 1636 UHL Road Glenn Heights, TX 75154
