Dr. David Dale Clements, 62 died in the Dallas Medical Center Hospital on Tuesday, October 7 following a year-long battle with colorectal cancer. David was born in Midland, Texas but grew up in Lubbock and Ft Worth. David attended Eastern Hills High School in Ft Worth, Mountain View College and University of North Texas where is was a proud member of the Lab Band before graduating from Texas Chiropratic College in Pasadena, Texas. He is the son of the late Edward Douglas Clements and the late Lora Burks Clements. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Rogers and her husband Allen Rogers of Columbia, SC: his brother, Gary Clements and his wife Annelle of San Antonio, and six nieces and nephews: Eric Rogers and wife Jeannie of Charlotte, NC: Alec Rogers and his wife Shelly, also of Charlotte: US Army Capt. Ethan Clements and wife Jennifer currently stationed in North Pole, Alaska: Tammie Elsik and her husband Colin of San Antonio: Michael Clements and fiance Lauren Hess from Austin, TX and Paul Fuston currently in Knoxville, TN. Dr. Clements spent much of his early career as a chiropractor in Dallas, but later retired and dedicated himself solely to his music. He specialized in the drums, but could play virtually any instrument and had his mothers gift for perfect pitch. He played for any number of events in and around Dallas and toured a number of times with the Stan Kenton Big Band Orchestra. He loved swing from the 1940s and progressive jazz, but his favorite music was whatever was on the radio at the time. David also worked for Starbucks where he met many new friends. Dr. Clements was a precious soul with an enormous intellect and a quirky sense of humor. Everyone liked him and so many are mourning his passing. A celebration of his life will be held at Unity Church of Dallas, ( his 2nd family ) where he was greatly loved, on Saturday, October 18 at 10:30 AM. ( 6525 Forest Lane ) and his ashes will be spread between his parents graves at a later date.
