Obituary

Clint Amon "Poppy" Turner Jr, 86 passed away in Dallas Texas on January 25th 2022 after a courageous 16 year battle with Alzheimers . Born to Clint Amon and Annie Turner in Crafton, TX, he is survived by wife Katheryn Sue, daughter Cecile Aimee and husband Joel Arthur Lewin, son Clint Amon Turner III and wife Claudine Marie, grandchildren Clint Ashton Turner and wife Katheryn Elise, Dylan Carnot Bellinger, Racheal Cecile Bellinger, Nicholas John Bellinger, sister Anita Powell and brother Nolan Francis Turner. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bernell Amon, Gilbert Lynn, Clinton Durwood and Billy Gale Turner. Raised on a peanut farm in Floydada, TX, a proud Army veteran and Texas Tech graduate (where he was student union manger, hell have you know!), Poppy was an accounting comptroller for Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville, OK, Borger, TX and Albuquerque, NM for 40 years. A true jack of all trades he enjoyed gardening, singing in choral society and quartet ensembles, Toastmasters, serving the Lord as soundboard director at FBC, NYT crossword puzzles, fixing anything that was broken, woodworking, grilling out, power walking, the Honda truck and ordering "queso dil-yas" (always pronounced that way). Never met a stranger and a friend to anybody, he enjoyed retirement spoiling his grandchildren, living on Lake Conroe, vacationing on Emerald Island, NC, walking his Great Danes, volunteer accounting services, but mostly loving his wife of 58 years. His calm, confident and wickedly witty personality is terribly missed, but were so happy hes been released to heaven and has that Poppy twinkle back in his eyes free once again to instantly compute any math question and dance a jig when its time to eat! Services will be held February 5th 2022, 11am at Aria Funeral home, 19310 Preston Rd, Dallas, TX 75252. ( VIEW LIVE STREAM ) https://youtu.be/QUegwvruXDw
