Gael Norman Cooper passed away March 19, 2019 of natural causes in his Dallas, TX home. He was born October 14, 1946 in St. Louis, MO to Dorothy McManus Cooper and Norman Wilford Cooper. He is survived by his sister, Carol Cooper Sprawls and husband, Jack Sprawls, nephew, Scott Ryan Sprawls and wife Sara Sprawls, nieces, Melissa Sprawls Anderson and husband, Erik Anderson and Ashley Sprawls and three great-nieces, Natalie, Tyler and Parker and one great-nephew, Hayden. Gael graduated from Highland Park High School in 1965 and the University of North Texas in 1970 with a BA in Speech and Drama. He worked most of his adult life in customer service and sales. Gael enjoyed photography, traveling, camping and hiking in nature spots all over the U.S. and Canada. Some of his favorite camping spots were the Grand Canyon, Crater Lake, Yellowstone NP, Yosemite NP, Glacier NP, and the Grand Tetons. He spent many evenings playing chess with close friends. Family gatherings were important to Gael so he was always on-site to celebrate holidays and special occasions with family. He was very intentional about making hospital visits to friends and family. Since childhood Gael had a love for cats and adopted many strays who found their way to his home.
