Obituary

Cynthia (Cindy) Gordon Martell, 73, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on December 5, 2025, in Dallas, after a long battle with breast cancer and related health complications.

Born on April 4, 1952, in LaMoure, North Dakota, Cynthia was the daughter of Jerry and Bonnie (Seefeldt) Gordon. She carried with her a deep curiosity about the world that would shape much of her life. She graduated from LaMoure High School, where she was named the Homecoming Queen. She also represented North Dakota in the Miss Junior competition, where she was named Miss Runner-Up and Miss Congeniality.

Cynthia went on to earn her bachelor's degree from North Dakota State University. For nearly two decades, she worked as an international flight attendant, a role well suited to her curiosity, love of travel, and natural ability to connect with others. She was a people person — expressive, creative, charismatic, and able to form easy rapport with just about anyone through conversation.

Cynthia was the wife of the late Harreson R. Martell, who passed away on April 30, 2012.

She is survived by many loving family members, including her daughter, Katrina Martell, and her sisters and their families: Rita and Dennis Thorson, Renee and Brent Miedema, and Patty Carlson, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She was deeply loved by her family and will be missed dearly.

An intimate celebration of life will be held in Minnesota at a later date.
