Obituary

Kenneth Wayne Dahms of Rowlett, TX, passed away Thursday August 30, 2018 at the age of 51. Kenny was born to Virgil and Rita Dahms in Redwood, CA. Kenny is survived by two sisters, Katherine Dahms of Sherman, TX, and Gail Mills of Pickton, TX.

Kenny proudly served as an Infantryman in the US Army in Desert Storm earning the Good Conduct, National Defense Service, Southwest Asia Service, Army Commendation, and Saudi Arabia Kuwait Liberation Medals, as well as the Combat Infantry and Parachute badges.

In addition to living through Desert Storm, Kenny survived two drownings, two traumatic brain injuries and fought cancer in the brain for over a year prior to his death. And yet, he was known as a true "Son of Encouragement." Kenny always had a positive word for others and refused to quit when things got tough.

Kenny was a beloved member of CARE Church, 1504 East Campbell, Richardson, TX 75081. CARE Church will be hosting a memorial for Kenny at 10 am on Saturday September 8th.

There will not be a grave site service and there will be no place to leave flowers or plants. However, Kenny believed in Homes For Our Troops mission to build and donate homes for severely injured post-9/11 veterans. If you are inclined to do so, please contribute to Homes For Our Troops in lieu of flowers.
