Daryl Terrence
Gordon Sr.
Nov 4, 1960 — Feb 28, 2025
Daryl Terrence Gordon, Sr
Daryl Terrence Gordon, Sr, 64, passed away at home on February 28, 2025.
Daryl was born November 4th, 1960, in Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, to DT Gordon & Joan Knabe Gordon. The family then moved to Sacramento, CA, when Daryl was 6 months old. Sacramento held a special place in Daryl's heart, this is where he met many lifelong friends, including Freddie Bercier, Lori Brown & Carol Brown, Jeanne Ong Li, and the list goes on. After graduating from John F. Kennedy High School, Daryl and his brother Dennis moved to Arizona to Study Diesel Technology at UTI. Also, where Daryl met Janis, the mother of his son, Daryl Gordon, Jr. After receiving his Diesel Mechanics License Daryl & Janis moved to Dallas where he met his best friend, Luke Viguers, while working at Cummins Engines & Generators & remained best friends for the next 40 plus years.
Daryl came to the realization that he didn't want "grease under his fingernails anymore" so he decided to finish his undergraduate degree in Political Science at UT Dallas, then on to SMU Law School, graduating in 1993. Daryl worked relentlessly to create a successful & well-respected Family Law Practice in the DFW Metroplex for almost 30 years.
In 2002, Daryl met the love of his life, Laura, and unexpectedly found out he was going to be a "Girl Dad" to the apple of his eye, Simone.
Daryl was preceded in death by his father, DT Gordon of Sacramento, his mother, Joan Gordon of McKinney and brother, Dennis Gordon of Dallas.
Daryl meant so much to so many. He was not only a dedicated family law attorney but also a cherished father to DJ (Stefanie) & Simone, a fun-loving Pops to Oliver, and a generous & loving cousin, friend & colleague.
Known for his unwavering commitment to his clients and his passion for justice, Daryl touched the lives of many with his kindness and expertise. Outside of his professional life, he was an avid cyclist, finding joy and freedom on the road or mountain bike trails. His love for adventure extended to his Jeep, with countless memories made on trips with friends & family.
Daryl will be remembered as a man whose spirit and laughter filled the room with silly jokes, funny pranks, ongoing banter and our hearts with warmth. He leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and the pursuit of a life well lived. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In loving memory of Daryl, the family & church kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to support a specific cause or sent directly to the family to help cover unexpected expenses.
