David Edwin Nesuda was born on August 22, 1944 in Ennis, Texas to Albie Trojacek Nesuda and Edwin Clarence Nesuda.

David enjoyed his younger years in Ennis with friends and many cousins who lived in that Czech community. He raised two horses through the FFA program and enjoyed farm life. David had a dry wit that both family and friends admired and enjoyed. It was easy for him in his conversations with people to bring a smile to their faces.

David graduated from Ennis High School and attended Navarro Jr College for two years and continued his education at UNT where he earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1968. He worked for Taylor Publishing Company for 32+ years and became head of the Accounting Department, a position he held for the majority of his career before retiring in 2011.

After graduating from UNT in 1968 he married his wife of 57+ years, Barbara (Sneed) Nesuda, who is his surviving spouse. They had two wonderful children from their union: a son, Brian Landon Nesuda, and a daughter, Deanne Rene Nesuda. David was actively involved in both of his children’s lives. He chose to join Indian Guides and Indian Princess with his son and daughter respectively. These father/son and father/daughter programs allowed him to spend quality time bonding with his children. David had a passion for camping and was eager to take his children along to share the experience with him. He loved the excitement of walking down an unknown path to see where it leads and what there is to discover along the way. He also spent many years as coach of his daughter’s volleyball team. Volleyball was a shared passion between him and his daughter. David himself was an avid volleyball player who spent much of his married years on the court as often as possible, which in the summer was almost every day! What can never be forgotten is what an amazing husband and father he was. He always cared and thought about his family which included making certain his wife had a birthday cake just days before his passing. It brought a smile to his face to see her enjoy the surprise.

Shortly after his retirement in 2011 he began showing sign of Parkinson’s disease. Complications of the disease took his life on August 6.

He was preceded in death by his oldest sister, Evelyn Mae (Nesuda) Slovak, and is survived by his second sister, Dorothy Jean (Nesuda) Kudrna of Ennis, Texas.
