Obituary

David Lee Rossio, 88, of Plano, Texas, passed away on January 18, 2025.

He was born on September 19, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio to Albert and June Rossio.

David (Dave) graduated from Shaker Heights High School in Shaker Heights, OH, and attended Miami University in Oxford, OH. He was an army Veteran and served in the Panama Canal. Dave first met the love of his life, Nona, in third grade. Many years later, the pair reunited and married. In 2023 Dave and Nona celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary, just prior to Nona's passing in December of that year.

Dave and Nona spent most of their lives in the Cleveland area, with homes in Rocky River and Westlake, OH. A move to the warmer climates of Florida after retirement brought a new phase of life and many new friends. In 2018, Dave and Nona moved to Texas to be closer to their two children, David and Dana.

Dave spent his career working in the family business, Rossio Jewelry. His gift for conversation and true love of people helped him build a thriving clientele in their downtown Cleveland location. Nona worked alongside Dave until the pair retired and sold the business in 2002.

Dave was known as 'Dumps' or 'Gramps' to his four grandchildren, and 'President Bush' to his friends at Harbor Chase assisted living. He was a bright light to family and friends alike. His dedication to Nona's care during her lengthy battle with Parkinson's exemplified his deep love and commitment to family.

Dave always wore a smile and never met a stranger. His quick wit and endless supply of jokes endeared him to all. His lifelong parade of jokes, stories, and silly costumes brought a lifetime of laughter to those who knew him and will live on as treasured reminders of his joyous spirit.

Dave is survived by his children: David (Cari) Rossio; and Dana (Brian) Agnew; his grandchildren: Matthew (Alexandra) Agnew; Michael (Cate) Rossio; Sarah Agnew; and Elizabeth Rossio; and his sister, Sandra (Bruce) Molinaroli and family.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nona Marie Rieder-Rossio; his father, Albert Rossio; and his mother, June Kamps-Rossio.

Dave's memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

Private family services will be held at a later date to honor and celebrate his remarkable life.
