David started his journey in Philadelphia and traveled through York, PA enroute to Dallas. He graduated from Highland Park High School and Dartmouth College, playing football at both. He grew up in the electrical sign business, first at McAx Sign then to 3M, where he moved from billboards to selling medical supplies at several Texas locations. Many people have had broken bones cast and wounds dressed by people he trained using materials he sold. His crowning achievement though was taking care of his mother, Esther Simpson, now of Longview, TX, who survives. Also surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, James and Ruth Simpson and nephew and niece, Michael Simpson and Annie Simpson, all of Longview.
