Jackie Lynn Davis, 91, passed peacefully in her home in Dallas, Texas, on May 2, 2019. Born June 27, 1927, to P.L. and Cora Woolley, she grew up in Frost, Texas, after surviving a tornado that took the lives of her mother and sister. She married George Davis in 1947 after briefly attending TWU. As a homemaker, her life with George took her many places as she supported him in his career while they raised two children. Their life together took them all over the country. Any time their two boys saw a big truck driving down the street, they'd shout "the moving van is here!" They lived in the cities of Dallas, Lubbock, and Denver, as well as the small towns of Joseph, Oregon, Pittsburgh, Texas, and Ruidoso, New Mexico, winding up back in Dallas. No matter the destination, Jackie was heavily involved in the community, building life-long friends and establishing roots for her family. Although many of these locations were foreign to her, Jackie flourished wherever she went, bringing her positive energy and cheerful attitude to all. Jackie loved playing golf, camping, and learning new recipes to challenge her culinary skills. However, Jackie was most passionate about playing bridge and following her beloved Dallas Cowboys, the two hobbies that brought out her competitive nature. Despite her passion, she always maintained her grace at her weekly bridge games, although she wasn't above bragging about her 50 cent victories. Jackie's faith, spirit, love for family, positive attitude, and sense of style will always be remembered. Jackie is survived by her son, Steve (Dallas, TX) and partner, Gina Rolle; her two grandsons, Jacob (Washington, DC) and Derek and wife Ellen (Gunnison, CO), their mother, Karen Person (Dallas, TX), her sister, Rita Moore and husband Kris (Emmett, TX), her brother-in-law, Larry Reed (Georgia), and sister-in-law, Nancy Woolley (Allen, TX). also, her good friend and bridge partner, Mary Walton and countless other bridge buddies. Jackie is preceded in death by her husband, George, son, Rusty, brother, James Woolley, sisters, Clarice Pitcock, Carolyn Skinner, and Jan Reed.

Services will be held at Lake Highlands United Methodist Church Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 11:00am In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the America Diabetes Association.
