Obituary

Deborah Lee Jost, age 76, passed away on October 23, 2026, at her home in McKinney, Texas.

Born on September 9, 1950, in Portland, Oregon, Debi was the daughter of Rheamae and Leonard Jost. She grew up in Hacienda Heights, California, where she made many lifelong friends and memories. She attended Point Loma Nazarene University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Debi later moved to Arizona with her family and spent most of her adult life living in Tucson and Scottsdale.

Debi was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who had a big personality and a love for life. She enjoyed traveling, and some of her favorite places to visit included La Jolla, California; Cannon Beach, Oregon; and Positano, Italy. She was an avid music lover-her first concert was The Beatles, and her last was Elton John. She found happiness in spending time with family and friends and dancing whenever music was playing. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her big smile, and the legacy she leaves behind in her daughter and granddaughter.

She is survived by her daughter, Paige Plattner; son-in-law, Joel Plattner; granddaughter, Lilah Plattner; and sisters, Kimberlie Eichler, Pamela Jost, and Holli Jost. She was preceded in death by her parents, Len and Rhea Jost; grandparents, Eve and Jack Murray, and Dorothy and Elwood Jost; stepfather, Leonard Popick; and brother-in-law, James Benson.

Debi’s family will gather privately to honor her memory. In her honor, her family invites you to light a candle, enjoy a glass of wine, spend a little extra time at the beach on your next trip, dance like no one is watching, or take a moment to remember her in your own way.

Debi was loved by many, and her absence from this world leaves a void in the places and lives she touched. She held close the promise of heaven and the love of Jesus Christ, knowing that this life is not the end. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

In lieu of flowers, her family invites you to donate to The Alzheimer’s Association in her memory to help fund Alzheimer’s research.
