Dennis Lindeman, Sr, age 88, passed away August 17th, 2024, at his home in Plano, Texas. Dennis was born January 21st, 1936, in Barberton, Ohio to William and Laura Lindeman. He served five years in the U.S. Army. During this time, he met and married (in a period of three weeks) Nancy Coatoam in 1955. After his assignment in the military they settled in Cleveland, Ohio. There they raised four sons: Dennis Jr, Brian, Jeffrey and Charles. Dennis and Nancy enjoyed 40 years together until her passing in 1995.
Dennis loved and always made time for his family It was the most important part of his life. With his great sense of humor, kind heartedness, and stories galore he developed a wide circle of friends.
His passions were bowling, fishing, and following his favorite sports teams – the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Guardians, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed movies, especially Westerns showcasing Gene Autry (his hero!) and Comedies (e.g., Laurel and Hardy, and the 3 Stooges).
He was an active member of the Men's Club at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton church in Plano, Texas. He was a devout Catholic and lived a humble life. He was always there to help others and never asked for anything in return.
He will be missed by all who knew him, cared for him and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his wife (Nancy), son (Charles), parents (William and Laura), two brothers (Jim and Mel) and great grandson (Izaiah).
Dennis is survived by his three sons; Dennis Jr. (Martie), Brian (Mary), Jeffrey (Amy), two sisters; Wilma (Terry) and Rosie, six grandchildren; Gregory (Ying), Brent (Dana), Scott, Ashley, Katie, and Steven, four great grandchildren; Angel, Connor, Isaac and Peyton and two former daughters-in-law; Cheryl and Janie.
He will have a graveside service at Holy Cross Cemetery, (14609 Brook Park Rd, Brook Park, OH 44142) at noon on Friday, Sept 6th. Please meet at the cemetery Bell Tower 30 minutes beforehand for the procession. A reception will follow at Bucci's J Bella restaurant (12201 Pearl Rd. Strongsville, OH 44136) from 1-4pm.
A Celebration of Life at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Plano, TX will be held on Wednesday, September 18thth. The 11:30 am chapel prayer service will be followed by a noon reception.
