(Michael) Diane Martin, beloved mother, scholar, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, at the age of 82.

Born in Denver, CO, on July 18, 1942, Diane moved to Texas in her teens. Her life was defined by an unwavering pursuit of knowledge and a passion for sharing it with others. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin, a milestone that reflected her profound dedication to education and intellectual growth. Her career as a professor at Eastfield College touched countless lives, as she inspired and mentored generations of students.

Beyond the classroom, Diane's love for the arts found expression in her work as a docent at the SMU Meadows Museum in Dallas, where she delighted visitors with her insights, enthusiasm, and deep appreciation for beauty in all its forms.

Diane is survived by her loving daughter, Melinda Martin. She was preceded in death by her longtime partner, Charlie Smith, who passed away in 2023.

A celebration of Diane's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Aria Funeral Home, 19310 Preston Road, Dallas, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Diane's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
