Jack Samuel Divita, 85, of Flower Mound, TX entered into eternal peace on Thursday, June 21, 2018. He passed in his home under the care of hospice of natural causes while also battling Parkinson's for the last 22 years. His wife of 47 years, Eileen, passed away in 2014. He is survived by his children Paul, Karen, Nancy, and Mark; and seven grandchildren, Tricia, Katie, Bryce, Daniel, Nicole, Josh and Joseph. He is remembered and loved as an exceptional husband and father. Jack held a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University, and a masters degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Illinois. He put his degrees to work on various projects in the booming aerospace industry and, notably, at Rocketdyne by working on the rocket engines for the Saturn V rocket that boosted the Apollo missions to the moon. The F-1 engine he worked on is still the most powerful liquid rocket engine ever made. After his aerospace career, he worked at the EPA as a director for the five state region based in Dallas, Texas. In retirement, he and Eileen dedicated much of there time volunteering at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Plano, where they lived for about 20 years. He maintained the audio system and engineered and built many projects used by the church. A funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 13th at 3:00 PM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, TX 75023.
