Donald Harris, 89, of Melissa, TX passed away on October 26, 2023. Donald was born September 12, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to Benjamin and Bernice (nee Ingram) Harris. Donald grew up in Jackson, TN and graduated from Merry High School in 1953. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Donald joined the United States Air Force in 1956 and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1982. He also worked in Saudi Arabia for Northrop and Alsalam Aircraft Company and The University of Texas at Arlington. He enjoyed fishing, travelling, watching game shows and Judge Judy, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by brothers, Wayland and Ben; sisters, Louise Sparks and Jerrie Askew; and grandson Jordan Montgomery. Donald is survived by his wife of 45 years Irene Harris, sons Donald Jr. (Margaret), Stephen (Wayaka), Antony (Angela), Robert Lee, and Kenneth (Maria); daughter Donna (Robert) Montgomery; daughter-in-law Elena; and sister Demetra Jackson. He also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Viewing Tuesday, November 7th, 2023, 10 am to 2 pm. Funeral Wednesday, November 8th, 2023 at 11:00 am. Services will be held at Aria Cremation Service & Funeral Home, 19310 Preston Rd, Dallas, TX 75252. Donald will be buried at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
