Donald Maurice Preston, age 79, passed on March 10, 2026, in Plano, Texas. He was born on July 13,1947 in Lancaster, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Debra Green Preston, daughter Thea Rae Preston, son Jonathan Henry Preston, daughter-in-law Qwin Massingill Preston, grandchildren Reagan Skibinski (Michael), Gavin Wright, Alexandria Wright (Thea), Roman Preston, Sebastian Preston (Jonathan),sister Patricia Preston, other family members including aunts, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father Henry J. Preston, mother Margaret W. Jenkins, son Don Michael Preston, and sister Beverly Lynn Preston.
After graduating from Lancaster High School, he entered the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War earning the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal. He graduated from Andrews Barber College and the Ohio Institute of Technology. Donald Preston was a computer operator manager for the U.S. Army project in Atlanta, GA, a certified Corporate Instructor, and part of the Strategic Sales mega deal team at EDS (now Hewlett-Packard). During his retirement, he and his son Jonathan started a prolific vintage clothing company. His passion was his Savior, family and leading the Hope Life Group at Christ Fellowship. He enjoyed cooking for others, backgammon, scrabble, photography and movies-especially a good western.
Don's kindness impacted those around him with the spirit of encouragement and love. He is forever loved by his family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, April 11 at 11 am, Christ Fellowship 2801 Orchid Dr., McKinney Texas. A reception follows the service.
