Obituary

Donna Marie Norton Droby left this Earth a better place for having been on it for 78 years. She was born December 12, 1944, and passed away January 14, 2023, after a brief illness. Donna was a teacher in the Dallas Independent School District for 35 years, teaching Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, English as a Second Language and acting as a reading specialist district wide. She gave her all for the betterment of young children, and many remember her to this day as their favorite teacher. Donna also rescued an untold number of cats during her life and worked tirelessly as a volunteer with East Lake Pet Orphanage for many years. She loved her family and friends and would do anything for them. Strong, positive, funny, and kind, she will always be remembered. Donna is survived by her husband, Travis Ueoka, family members and many, many friends. There will be a Celebration of Donnas Life soon. Please keep in touch with old friends and be kind to each other as part of Donnas legacy.

To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty; To find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived; This is to have succeeded. -Ralph Waldo Emerson
