Dunn, Frederick Wayne (Fred) Frederick Wayne Dunn was born June 27th 1937, Lake Forest, Illinois, to Ralph & Lucille Dunn. Fred passed away on June 26th 2017 in Plano, Texas at 79 years. He grew up in Lake Forest, Illinois. After graduating from the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate Seminary he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. Reserves. He went on to coach football at St. Marys, Lake Forest, Il. where he met and later married the love of his life, Karen Frenzel, an English teacher at the school. The couple relocated from the Chicago area in 1971 when Fred opened his own chemical and janitorial business, Fred-zel Supply Company. A true Irishman, he always had a twinkle in his eye and a grin on his face. He was known for his congenial personality, giving nature and fun sense of humor. He radiated love and it was felt by all who encountered him whether it was a stranger or lifelong friend. His first love was spending time with his grandchildren, especially teaching them poker. He looked forward to card games with his friends and loved spending time with their many friends, especially during their annual St. Patricks Day Party. He prioritizes were evidenced in his devotion to faith, family, friends & football. Watching the Dallas Cowboys was a religious experience at the Dunn home. During baseball season his loyalties remained with the Chicago Cubs (2016 World Series Champions) & the Texas Rangers. A man of unwavering faith, his Catholic Community was a constant source of comfort in his life and he had an extraordinary devotion to Mary. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Karen; his two children, and seven grandchildren: Daughter Kim Dunn Landon, son in law Kirk, grandchidlren Blake Landon, Jeff Landon (wife Kaylee Nordt) and Sami Landon. Daughter, Tammy Dunn Amosson, son-in-law Brett Amosson, grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Luke and Brooke Amosson. He is precedded in death his brother Ralph, survived by nieces Kari Dunn Volpe, Kelli Dunn Johns and nephew Fitz Dunn. Also preceded in death by his half sister Patricia Paul. Survived by nephews, Steven Paul (wife Virginia), Roy Paul and Jeff Paul (wife Rosemary). A memorial mass will be held on Thursday June 29th at 2 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 West Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas 75023. Friends are invited to the family's home following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested remembrances made to either Scottish Rite or St. Jude's Children's Hospitals or the charity of choice. The family wishes to express their immeasurable gratitude to their many friends, as well as those in the medical community who have accompanied them on their journey.
