James R. Edens was born July 24, 1963. He was a resident of Irving, Texas. He enjoyed windsurfing, sailing, music, and his family. In 1981, he graduated from Irving High School. He then earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting at the University of North Texas. James had a wonderful sense of humor and music was his soul. In his youth, James played the drums in his garage bands. Throughout his life some could say he was a nerd. He loved to tinker with amateur electronics, watch science fiction TV and fly homemade model rockets. He shared these activities with his three children. James is survived by his mother Elizabeth Edens, brother John Edens, son Jared Surratt, daughter Jessica Surratt, daughter Mikayla Edens and grandson Logan Surratt. Services to be held at Aria Crematory and Funeral Home, Wednesday, June 17, 2020. Viewing will be held from 4-6pm and the service will immediately follow. Loved by many, James will live in the hearts of them all.
