Ernest Anthony Granato, Junior, "Junior"/"Ernie" born March 3, 1932 in San Antonio, Texas peacefully passed into the loving arms of his Lord, December 19, 2022 in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 90. Ernest was raised a devout Catholic in a big Italian family in San Antonio, Texas. There, he attended Central Catholic High School('49.) He went on to St. Mary's University('53) where he graduated summa cum laude. He was commissioned to the armed forces and was stationed at Fort Sill, and later served in Babenhausen, Germany. He remained active in the army reserves at Fort Sam Houston, retiring as a major. In 1959, he married his childhood sweetheart, Judy Barloco, and they moved to Houston and began their life together. He was a respected salesman, and spent many years honing his craft in sales with Shell Oil Company, Sinclair Oil Company, ARCO and US Land, which is now known as The Woodlands and Kingwood. He was a one-of-a-kind salesman and his personality and quick wit rivaled top comedians. Ernest was a people person and in 1974 he began his career with Xerox and, for over two decades, connected with people and sold engineering copiers. He was celebrated among the top salesmen for much of his career. Throughout his lifetime, he valued the importance of family and his love for his faith. His ability to lift anyone's spirit with his sense of humor was clearly a gift from God. In his retirement, he enjoyed attending mass at St. John Vianney, lifting weights at Ballys, watching WWE, being with family, taking care of his cars and maintaining his home in Houston Texas. The good people at Whataburger and H-E-B in Houston, Texas also had a special place in his heart. Mostly, he loved watching his grandkids at sporting events as they were his pride and joy. Wherever he went, he bonded with people and enjoyed clever conversation and laughter. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Veronica Judith Granato, "Judy" of 63 years; daughter, Jenny Granato Sessions, and her three sons, Ryan, Tyler, and Kyle Sessions of Dallas; his son, Ernest Anthony Granato III, daughter-in-law, Mary Finkbiner Granato, and their two daughters, Gia and Olivia Granato of Houston. He is also survived by his sister, Gloria Bennett; his brother, Robert Granato, and his wife, Rosie Barloco Granato, as well as countless nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends, all of whom he adored and, of course, shared his smile and laughs. Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Jaine Granato, as well as many dear relatives and friends. Monday, February 6, a rosary at 9:30 AM will be held at San Francesco Di Paola Catholic Church in San Antonio followed by a memorial mass with military honors at 10 AM.
