"TO THINE BE THE GLORY FOR HEAVEN HAS GAINED AN ANGEL" Peggy Joe Evans of Dallas, Texas passed away on August 18, 2017 at the age of 83 years. Peggy was born in Wichita Falls, Texas to Allen Roland Monroe Hurst and Wanda Sue Smallwood on July 30, 1934. Peggy was the eldest of four, brothers, Allen R. Hurst, Jr., Johnny Lee Hurst and sister, Bobby Jean Mrkos. Peggy Joe Evans was a Real Estate Broker and Salesperson for over 40 years. She owned her own real estate business and was recognized as Chairman of the Business and Women's organization by the Mayor of Nacogdoches, Texas. She is published in the Who's Who of American Women. Prior to her career in real estate since 1968, Peggy Joe Evans was a wife and a mother to six children. She worked out of the home assisting with her mother's business in reweaving and upholstering shop. She was gifted and artistic and that gift is demonstrated in her oil paintings. Peggy Joe Evans is preceded in death by her father, Allen Roland Monroe Hurst, and mother, Wanda Sue Smallwood Hurst Schafer, brothers Allen R. Hurst, Johnny Lee Hurst, sister Bobby Jean Mrkos, sons, Burl J. Evans, Jr. and Garry L. Evans. She is survived by sons, Jefferson Allen Evans (Mary), Colonel Larry J. Evans (Jennifer), daughters Becky "Ali" Canyon and Debbie E. Dietz (Ron), her grandchildren, G. Rushton Graves, Jr. (Jill), Jefferson A. Evans, II (Kristin), Jana J. Childers (Bruce), Jessica S. Ingham (Rob), Ashton Sorrels (Jeff), Laremy Evans, Megan Evans, MacKenzie Evans, Delaney B. Evans, Emilie A. Dietz, and 9 great-grandchildren, and four nephews, Dennis Evans, Randell Evans, Robert Evans, and Johnny Dean Hurst, and two nieces, Desi Hurst and Kerry Hurst. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Las Colinas Country Club, 4400 North O'Connor Rd., Irving, Texas 75062.
