Billy Dwane Faris, born January 1, 1939, loving father, devoted husband, adoring grandfather, sports lover went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 30, 2021. Bill was a gift to this world for 82 years. . He is survived by many family members: Barbara Faye Reed Faris, wife of 48 years (fianc of 3 years). Bill was father to Mark Darren Ferguson and wife Linda, grand children Cody and Caitlyn and Jarred Anthony Faris, wife Cassandra, and grandson Haeden. Bill was brother to Herbert Faris, James Faris, deceased, and Kay Faris. Bill was known to all as a happy, joyful, kind and gentleman, always with a smile on his face. He enjoyed his family and friends. Bill was always here when he was needed. Bill was born at San Angelo, Texas to father Aaron Wright Faris and mother Lois Laran Graham Faris. Bill grew up participating in sports, especially baseball and basketball. He was an avid bowler and golfer during his lifetime. He was instrumental in coaching football, baseball, and basketball with his team remembering him always. He graduated from Cleburne High School and attended Victoria college with his basketball scholarship. He interrupted his college education to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He worked at Texas Instruments, Inc. for 37 years, where he met Barbara they were married September 1, 1973. He attended University of Texas at Arlington, earning his BBA. He retired in 2000 and joined Barbara at their flower shop, Flowers of Las Colinas, until retiring in 2018. Bill fought valiantly the cancer that 2 years later took his life. Bills devotion to his wife and sons will be with them forever. Funeral Service at Oakview Baptist, 1004 S. Story Rd, Irving, TX. Reception immediately following the service at Fellowship Hall. The burial will be at Dallas / Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy Memorial, Dallas, TX, at 1:45.
