January 14, 2015 marks the death of beloved mother, grandmother, wife and sister Marilyn Russell Forrester. Born in Huntsville, TX, April 14, 1938. Marilyn graduated from R.L. Paschal High School in 1956 and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Texas Christian University, 1960. She taught art at S.S. Dillow Elementary School in Fort Worth. After her children were grown, she spent many hours in the Mountain View Community College art studios honing her artistic talents. Her volunteer service included Meals on Wheels, Stephen Ministry, various church committees, and the most rewarding ministry of organizing and preparing meals for those in need. She was preceded in death by husband, Jimmy Lewis Forrester; her parents, John Roy and Maurice Taylor Russell; and her brothers, Robert Harold Russell and John Roy Russell, Jr. Survivors include her children Lynn Forrester; John Lewis Forrester and wife Alexandra; Amy Forrester Tawil and husband Robbie; grandchildren John Bailey Tawil, Henry Jacob Tawil, and Mary Helene Tawil; as well as numerous nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., at Kessler Park United Methodist Church, 1215 Turner Ave., Dallas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children's and Youth Ministry of Kessler Park United Methodist Church or the SPCA of Texas. Please leave the family your condolences on this page.
