Obituary

Jean Ann Furlong Foster Born: 10/28/1928 Died: 03/11/2019 A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 2 pm at Aria Funeral Home on Preston Road at George Bush Highway. Jean Ann Foster went to be with her Lord and Savior at age 90 on Monday, March 11, 2019, dying peacefully in her sleep. She will be remembered as a kind, loving person with a wry sense of humor, beautiful smile and twinkle in her eye. Jean was born and grew up in Chicago, Illinois as the only child of Clair and Angela Furlong. As a child and young woman she often visited her grandmother's farm where she enjoyed riding horses. After high school Jean attended Beloit College where she excelled in theatre and arts as an actress and dancer graduating with her Bachelor of Arts degree. At Beloit she joined the Tri Delta Sorority in which she was active and supportive of most of her life. It was at Beloit where she met Robert Foster and they were married in Chicago shortly after graduation from college. Their lives together and his work for Sears took them to Dallas, Corpus Christi, Amarillo, and to Glen Ellyn Illinois before returning to Richardson Texas in 1972. Along the way Jean stayed active in charitable work and with the Tri Delts. With her background in the theatre Jean enjoyed attending the Dallas Summer Musicals with friends for many years. But most of all she was a devoted and loving mother to the three children she raised. In her later years Jean lived at Wyndham Court Assisted Living in Plano, Texas where she was lovingly cared for by many. Jean was an avid reader who shared her love of reading by setting up a book exchange library at Wyndham Court. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the love, kindness and friendship shown to her while she was there. Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Clair Willits Furlong and Elizabeth Angela Tamblym Furlong. She is survived by step-mother Janet Furlong, daughter Susan Jean Morgan, son James Russell Foster and his wife Charlotte Foster, son Jeffrey Robert Foster, grandchildren Josh Morgan, Hannah Morgan, Peter Morgan, John Foster and wife Lindsey, James Foster and wife Alyssa Foster, and great grandchildren Hayden Foster, Parker Foster and Emmett Moore. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Cancer Research Hospital, the designated charity of Tri Delta.
