Thomas Harry "Chip" Fowler, Jr., passed away unexpectedly on October 27, 2017, while on a business trip in Springfield, MA. Chip was born in Los Angeles on January 24, 1958, to Tom and Ramona Fowler. He is survived by his 1st cousin, Bert Harris and his wife, Tracey and many, many close friends who were family to Chip. Among those in Chip's extended family were his ex-wife, Debbie and her family, schoolmates, coworkers, golf buddies, fellow Toastmasters, Harley riders, friends in meditation class, neighbors, and past and present girlfriends. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1976 and earned his bachelor's degree from Principia College in 1980. He had a long, successful career in various positions at Johnson Controls and SAP. Chip was an avid golfer, teeing off at sunrise most every Sunday for the last 34 years at Stevens Park in Oak Cliff. All who were lucky enough to have known Chip knew him as a kind, generous, gentle soul who was quick to laugh, lend an ear, buy a drink and be there when you needed him. Chip would light up a room with his smile while making everyone, young and old, comfortable with engaging conversation on topics of interest to them. But, mostly, Chip gave love. And, that love will rest in the hearts of his family forever. He often said, "I've lived a good life!" and indeed he did, albeit way too short. You made the world a better place, my brother! There will be a celebration of all things Chip held at Stevens Park Golf Course this Spring. Everyone in Chip's life is invited. A contribution to a charity dear to you would be a perfect memorial to Chip. Please send the family condolences and sign the guestbook on this site.
