George Vincent Marks, Jr. was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 12, 1948, and passed away in Plano, Texas on August 10, 2026.

George was greatly loved by his wife, Gail Chappell Marks and his children, Vincent Marks and Andrew Marks of Plano, and Lisa Marks Erthal of Alton, IL, as well as his grandchildren Austin and Jonathan Erthal also of Alton, IL, along with a large extended family of brothers, sisters and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruth Marks of Pittsburgh, Pa.

Having graduated with a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from Pitt University, George was a man committed to excellence in his chosen career of Civil Engineering and was highly respected. He contributed to many important public projects including DFW, Love Field, SeaTac Airports; many highway and bridge projects in Texas and California, the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in Dallas and many, many other projects all over the United States.

Over the years, George enjoyed many activities, including outdoor sports such as fly fishing, hunting, golf and snow skiing.

The celebration of Life for George will be held August 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Aria Funeral Home at 19310 Preston Road Dallas, TX 75252.
