Clifford Gerald Haygood,88, passed away peacefully in Plano TX on Monday May 25,2026. Born on July 1, 1937, in Houston, Texas. he made a home in Houston, Texas, Shreveport, Louisiana, Poughkeepsie, New York and Dallas, Texas, and dedicated many years to IBM, retiring in 1989 after a successful career. Throughout life, Gerald was actively involved in bridge, bowling, golf, tennis and his church. He contributed in leadership roles such as Junior Achievement, volunteer work such as Habitat for Humanity and served as an HOA Officer. He was also a precinct chairman as he considered civic duties extremely important.

Gerald is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Ann Hampton Haygood of Plano, Texas, his son Gerald Michael Haygood and wife Melissa Haygood of Benton, Louisiana and daughter Kim Renee Gomez and husband Joe Gomez of Plano, Texas. He is also survived by his brother Dr. Donald Haygood and wife Doris Haygood of Tyler, Texas. Four loving grandchildren, Sierra, Rachel, Lexi and Aaron called him Grandaddy.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry Clifford Haygood and Selsor Gay Rudy Haygood.

A memorial service will be held on Monday June 15, 2026, at 2:00PM at Aria Funeral Home 19310 Preston Road, Dallas, Texas 75252.
