Beloved husband, father & grandfather died on 12-16-2014. Born on April 3, 1927 in Muskogee, Ok. He served his country in the occupation of Italy following WWII and attended Univ. of Ok upon his return. He made his career in sales, most notably at an electronics retailer in Houston, then as a representative for Sylvania in Dallas. Eventually owned his own business, Park Forest TV. Gene is survived by his wife of 62 years, the love of his life, Mary Maxwell Goad; son Kerry & wife Jill of Dallas; daughters Sondra Goad of Baltimore, Kimberly Goad of New York, Stacia Malone & husband Danny of Prosper; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandsons; sisters Marilyn Vandiver & JoAnn Kiesow; numerous nieces and nephews. He loved OU football, swing music, singing & dancing, but nothing more than time with his family. Donations may be made to the Center for Brain Health at Univ. of Texas at Dallas, or to a charity of choice. A memorial will be held Sat 1-10-2015 in Shipp Chapel, Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, at 1 pm. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." -2 Timothy 4:7.
