Edgar (Ed) Gonzales , age 67, lost his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Sunday, 12/31/17 with his family by his side. Ed was born on April 25, 1950 in the Chicago area and lived briefly overseas and in Southern California- however he always considered Arizona "home". He was an Arizona Cardinals and Diamondbacks fan, loved music and muscle cars, and enjoyed playing competitive darts and nurturing his ever-growing fountain pen collection. Ed was the consummate trivia whiz, and was a frequently consulted resource for family and friends for questions on everything from music to military conflicts. He was a patriot and loved and appreciated our countrys military heroes. Ed was the eldest of seven children and is preceded in death by his parents Edgar Sr. and Ruth Gonzales. He is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years Marianne and daughter Samantha of Dallas and brothers Bruce, Kurt and Justin and sisters Judy, Ingrid and Cindy and many beloved nieces and nephews- all from Arizona. He was a good man and will be greatly missed by all who loved him. An informal memorial gathering with his Dallas family is planned from 5pm-7pm on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Aria Funeral Home 19310 Preston Rd, followed by a celebration of life with Eds Arizona family and friends at a later date.
