Obituary

Hannah Nicole Pittman Wood entered Heaven on April 18, 2026, after a courageous battle with acute necrotizing pancreatitis and related complications. She met every challenge with strength and determination, often repeating the words that carried her through the hardest moments: "Strong girls do strong things." Those words became her rallying cry, written on hospital whiteboards, spoken before difficult steps, and lived out with quiet bravery until the very end.

Hannah had a rare gift for bringing people together. She made others feel seen, known, and deeply cared for. To be in her presence was to feel welcomed, loved, and celebrated. She brought warmth, joy, and light into every room she entered.

Born on March 10, 1994, in Dallas, Texas, to Kelly Koncak Pittman and Craig Pittman, Hannah grew up in Lake Highlands, where she attended Scofield Christian School through eighth grade before continuing on to Lake Highlands High School, where she was a proud member of the Highlandette Drill Team. Years later, she returned to Scofield to teach preschool, pouring love, creativity, and joy into the lives of her students.

She graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, a place that remained deeply woven into her life long after graduation. Hannah was a devoted Baylor Bears fan who never missed a home football game as a student or alumna and faithfully traveled to bowl games with family and friends. In later years, Baylor football weekends became some of her greatest joys, especially the tailgates she planned alongside Rob. From the menus and themes to the grilling and gathering of loved ones, those Saturdays reflected the creativity, hospitality, and joyful partnership they shared. At Baylor, Hannah was an active member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and All-University Sing, and she later served in leadership roles with the Dallas Alumnae Association.

While attending Baylor, Hannah interned with DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen before beginning her career at BizCom Associates. She later followed a calling into education, where she poured deeply into her students as a teacher, before returning to digital marketing, design, and creative direction. Hannah had a remarkable ability to connect with people and shape ideas into something meaningful, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she worked with.

Hannah was, at her core, an artist. She loved creating beautiful things and sharing them with the people she loved. She had a keen eye for art, fashion, and design, and found joy in making everyday moments feel intentional and memorable. For more than 25 years, she participated in Creative Arts contests at the State Fair of Texas and was especially proud to receive "Best of Show" for a ceramic piece she sculpted.

God gave Hannah an extraordinary gift for hospitality. She did not simply host gatherings, she created experiences. Whether through beautifully prepared meals, flowers arranged with care, handwritten details, or elaborate cakes that were true works of art, Hannah made people feel celebrated and deeply loved.

She was joyful, kind, generous, playful, loyal, and deeply loving. Her laugh was contagious and unforgettable. She loved challenging herself physically and found happiness outdoors through hiking, skiing, rowing, walking, and weightlifting. Her faith grounded her, and many people turned to Hannah for encouragement, wisdom, and prayer.

Above all else, Hannah loved her husband, Rob, with her whole heart. They met during the height of the pandemic, and from the moment they found each other, they were inseparable. They were married on January 14, 2023, and built a life rooted in love, faith, joy, and deep partnership. Together, they traveled, created a home filled with warmth and beauty, and spent treasured time with family and friends.

Hannah is survived by her loving husband, Robert Edward Wood Jr.; her parents, Kelly and Craig Pittman; her brother, Collin Pittman; her grandparents, Judi Hummel Koncak and Carolyn and Jerry Pittman; her father-in-law, Robert Edward Wood Sr.; her aunts and uncles, Mary Jo and Kelly Pittman and Julie and Paul Heath; her cousins, Connor and Cameron Pittman and Parker and Piper Heath; her aunts- and uncles-in-law, Mark and Malinda J. Hickey and Patricia and Larry Jones; her great-aunt and great-uncle, Joni and Mike Dunn and Vanessa and Bob Moore; and many beloved extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Suzanne Moore Daughters; grandfather, James David Koncak; mother-in-law, Glynnis Jean Jones Wood; great-aunt, Norma Pittman; great-aunt and great-uncle, Sue and Tom Jones; and great-grandparents, Ilah Murphy Coil, Julie Hightower Mahr, and Iris and Raymond Moore.

Hannah will be remembered for the way she made life more beautiful. She loved deeply, gave generously, and showed up fully for the people she cared about. Though her time here was far too short, the light she brought into the lives of others will continue to shine for years to come.

A celebration of Hannah's life will be held at Northwest Bible Church, 8505 Douglas Avenue, Dallas, Texas, on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
