Obituary

Come and share your stories and precious memories of our beloved wife, daughter, sister, and friend, "Missy" Meredith Henderson at a celebration of her life that will be held at 3:00 P.M., Monday, July 6, 2015 at ARIA Memorial Chapel in Dallas. Meredith Henderson, age 70, died June 24th after a long fight with cancer. She was a fiery comet who brightened the lives of all who knew her. Meredith was a true original and unapologetically genuine. Funny and quick, she was fun-loving and adventurous enjoying travel and camping. She also loved music, all animals (especially Zackary, Sadie, and Gus), reading, movies and TV, her friends madly, her husband, siblings and her parents to the moon. She channeled Gus McCrae of Lonesome Dove who said, "If you want only one thing too much, its likely to turn out a disappointment. Now the only healthy way to live, as I see it, is to learn to like all the little every day things." Mere understood this because she loved life with a passion and that is all encompassing. She was spiritual in her own way, having respect for all creatures, great and small. She would do anything for anyone but had extreme trouble with asking for a hand. She was so brave and fought so hard and won 3 bouts of cancer; the 4th, her battle came up a little short. Survived by her beloved husband, Willie Henderson; her mother, Jean Barnes; her siblings, Rob, Beverly and Elizabeth and their spouses and children; her daughter Lori Solomon; cat Gus ("the softest cat in the world"); and other extended family members she loved and adored. She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Barnes, who taught her so well to, "Never, never, never give up."
