In Loving Memory of Larry Hollingsworth Passed in peace June 9th, 2018 at the age of 70, Larry Hollingsworth is survived by his wife Dana, his brother Kenneth and his wife Bonnie, his nephews Scott, Darin and Kyle, his son-in-law Bryan and his wife Kendra, his daughter-in-law Holly and her husband Chris, and his grandchildren, Walker and Lainey. Born in Tyler, Texas to Kenneth M. and Jean Hollingsworth, Larry left his mark in life through his ability to touch others. A man of God, Larry spent his life giving it to Christ and doing his best to help people he came in contact with. Through his church and god's word, which meant everything to him, he touched the lives of others on a daily basis and always was guided by love, honesty and his commitment to his Christian ways. It defined him. A loving husband, he was married to his partner in life Dana Hollingsworth since Jan 16, 1998 and his love for his wife was present in everything he did. One can define marriage by the dedication and commitment one shows to their spouse through the good times and bad, by one's ability to always take care of the other and by unconditional love at all times. No man upheld these traits and was more committed to their wife than Larry was of Dana. He loved her and gave everything he had to her. A loyal friend, he touched everyone. Whether it was the guy at the auto shop, the people who got him his breakfast at McDonalds every morning, the friends he rode bikes with across the Texas and Colorado landscapes, his friends at his church, the people he helped with their homes and or the random person that helped him order flowers for Mother's Day, he truly cared. People gravitated towards him and wanted to do what he could to help. A lover of the game of baseball, there is a beautifully lit ball field in heaven where the dirt is perfect and the grass is freshly mowed, where players from all generations play together and tell stories, where the smell of cracker jacks and peanuts fill the air and where the crack of the bat is the always the sweetest sound. This special place is where Larry now plays. From his days playing American Legion at Robert E. Lee High School to his days helping his grandson with his swing, his love for this game was at his core. A caring granddad, Larry adored his grandchildren. He always tried his best to be the best granddad he could be. From games of catch to watching videos of cheer competitions, he was always a fan, and they knew it. His last little moment in their lives involved following every inning that his grandson played from afar and buying him new batting gloves that are worn with every swing. He was very proud of them. A truly good man, he will be remembered most for being a good person and always thinking more of others than himself. Being known as a truly good man is the best compliment one can be remembered by. Larry will be missed. May you rest in peace now Larry, your work is done. Go on those countryside rides in the sky, get a few swings at the plate in, have your dog by your side, and be with god. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco, Texas.
