Martha Woodruff Hulsey 1930-2017 Martha Woodruff Hulsey of Plano, Texas passed away the morning of September 27, 2017 at the age of 87. Martha was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Allen Woodruff and Elizabeth Morrison Woodruff on June 19, 1930. She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri with her sisters; Betty Miller, Marcelle Stumpff Bennett, and Serena Meyers. Martha was a class of 1948 graduate of Southwest High School in St. Louis, Missouri and later became a class of 1952 graduate of Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Her work as a dedicated educator spanned four decades and stretched across several cities. She had a love for teaching young people in St. Louis, MO, Madison, WI, Nashville, TN, Kansas City, MO, and Tucson, AZ. She was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed traveling, trying new cooking recipes, attending church, and being a prolific reader. Martha spent over 20 years as a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Martha Woodruff Hulsey is preceded in death by her parents and by one sister; Elizabeth "Betty" Miller. She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 genuinely wonderful years, Owen Gathings Hulsey. Martha is also survived by her son, Thomas (Lauren) Hulsey of Dallas, TX, daughter, Kathleen (Wayne) McLarren of Raymore, MO, son, Brian (Annette) Hulsey of Olathe, KS, two sisters; Marcelle Bennett of Columbia, MO, and Serena Meyers of Morton, IL, six grandchildren; Robert Hulsey, Ryan McLarren, Amy McLarren, Michelle Palmore, Joshua Hulsey, and Samuel Hulsey, as well as three great-grandchildren; AJ Hulsey, Liva McLarren, and Bryalee Palmore. A Celebration of Martha's Life will take place at 11:30 AM on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Village of Mapleshade in Plano, Texas.
