Irene D. Curtis passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018 at the age of 87. She made her home in Yuba City, CA for the past 9 years. Irene was a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great grandmother. Irene loved music and played guitar, Hawaiian guitar and piano. She also enjoyed playing fiddle, singing, and yodeling. She taught Hawaiian guitar after she graduated from Lincoln High School in Lincoln, NE, where she grew up. She taught guitar for many years throughout her life. Irene worked for the USPS for many years in Lincoln, NE, Phoenix, AZ and Orange County, CA. Irene is survived by her four children, Judy (Curtis) Klein of Yuba City, CA, Janet (Curtis) and Greg Kats, Jim and Sandy Curtis, and Jeri Curtis and Julio Flores. She Is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Irene was also known as "grandma/great grandma" by 5 other kids and 11 great grandchildren for over 40 years. She is also survived by her brother, LeRoy Hayes. Irene was preceded in passing by her husband of 67 years, Glen L. Curtis. There will be a small family gathering as a memorial for her. We appreciate the thoughts and prayers, but it is unnecessary to send flowers.
