LESLIE GORDON IRVIN August 14, 1942-April 24, 2015 Leslie "Gordon" Irvin, age 72, of Plano, TX, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015. The family welcomes all of Gordon's friends and extended family for visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 am and a funeral service from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at ARIA Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will be held later in the day at 3:00 pm at Milford Cemetery, in Milford, TX. Gordon was born and raised on a small ranch near Milford, TX. He was the second of three sons of the Tom Irvin family. He attended Milford Elementary School and graduated Milford High School in 1960. In Fall 1960, Gordon went to Texas A & M University in Bryan-College Station. He was a member of the Corps the first two years, and graduated in 1964 with a degree in Dairy Manufacturing. From 1964 through 1969, Gordon worked as a Plant Manager for the Southland Corporation in Ardmore, OK, Dallas, and Wichita Falls. While at the three dairy plants, he gained added training in sales and general management, and then decided to go into Tech Sales. From 1970 through 1974, he worked for Stein-Hall selling food ingredients. Later, from 1975 through 1980, he sold food ingredients for Stouffer Chemical Company. Gordon's best and most successful sales work was realized from 1980 through 2000 when he was an Account Executive for International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF). His two global accounts were Frito-Lay and M&M Mars. In 1987, he won a trip to Europe for having the highest sales of the year. From 2001 through June 2004, Gordon worked as a consultant to Haarmann & Reimer (H&R), a Bayer Company. While working in sales for 24 years, he also owned a ranch In Milford, TX and raised wheat and beef cattle. During the1990s, he also was the owner of a BBQ restaurant along I-35 in Milford. Gordon truly loved the country life. In his retirement, he would stay a few days a week in Milford up until the day he died. In the spring of 1977, Gordon met Barbara Bando in California, and they later married in September 1977. After residing in Richardson for six years, they moved to Plano. Gordon was preceded in death by his mother, father, and older brother, Dean. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his younger brother Kenneth, his nephew James Irvin of Milford, TX, his niece Alysa Kirton of Italy, TX, and an extended family of cousins, and grand nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to the American Heart Association or to the Oncology area of Multiple Myloma (bone cancer). Please contact his wife for details.
