Jack Day Watson III, age 37, left this world far too soon in the early hours of February, 21, 2023. Born January, 27, 1986 he was the shining star in the lives of his parents, Jack and Sallie.
jd excelled in all he did earning honors, accolades, and multiple academic scholarships. While in his last year of law school at Southern Methodist University while hospitalized for a viral infection, a careless medical error led to a catastrophic brain bleed. Five surgeries later, his life changed forever. The traumatic brain injury left him with a seizure disorder which led to his death.
In the last seven years and four months, jd overcame tremendous obstacles that enabled him to return to running and swimming. He spent hours creating pieces of art with hundreds if not thousands of Lego blocks. jd filled his home with collections of vinyl records, books, band posters, and state of the art gaming systems. He had just overseen the remodel of his swimming pool and was looking forward to the arrival of warmer weather.
While having traveled the world, he was always happiest at home surrounded by his velcro cats, Milo and Buck. They were in fact the Three Musketeers. His fur boys are grieving the loss of their one and only main man.
jd was preceded in death by his father, Jack Day Watson, Jr. bonus Dad, Glen Brown Plummer, brother Colby Thomas Watson, paternal grandparents, Jack Day Sr. and Billye Sherman Watson of Fort Worth, maternal grandparents, Thomas and Caroline Crosslin Fennelly of Waco.
jd is survived by his Mother, Dr. Sallie Watson Plummer of Richardson, Ann and Glen Buis of Fort Worth, Lisanne and David Lynch of Waco, Goddaughter Valentin Rachel Alecon of Paris, France and his adored "sister from another mother", Shelby Guild of Carrollton. Extended family and dear friends mourn his death.
The service will take place on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 2 oclock pm at Saint Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church in The Saint Michael Chapel at 8011 Douglas at Colgate, Dallas, 75225. A reception will follow.
