David Lee Jackson, 43, passed away suddenly of a heart attack at his home on April 25, 2016. Born in Dallas on August 24, 1972, Lee grew up in University Park. After high school graduation, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. A talented guitar player and songwriter, he formed the rock band Judge Jackson with his best friend, Todd McTavish. J. J. Garcia and Brian Eakin also joined the band. They released ten albums, extensively toured the Western states, and garnered thousands of fans. They had song placements during the Super Bowl and many NFL, NBA, and NHL games. Lee lived his dreams. With over a decade of sobriety, he was a successful and involved member of Alcoholics Anonymous where he inspired countless others. Toward the end of his life, he returned to Texas to start a family. Lees passions were guitars, guns, dogs, history, and the outdoors. We will miss Lees kind, generous spirit and beautiful smile. He is also survived by his parents David and Ginger Jackson, brother Forrest Jackson, sister Sally Jackson and nephew Jackson Galbraith of Dallas; uncle Frederic Forrest of Santa Monica, CA; uncle Albert Jackson of Houston, and uncle and aunt Dr. John and Margie Haley of Dallas.
