James Edward Andrews was born in Dallas, Texas to A.L Dugan Andrews and Marjorie L. Andrews. Jim lived his entire life in Irving, Texas and was a 1968 graduate of Irving High School where he was a proud member of the Tiger Band. Jim graduated from East Texas State University with a B.A. degree in Journalism.
Jim went on to hold various sales positions before founding The Wire Connection in 1990 with his dear friends, Randy Necessary and Jack Kennedy, both fellow IHS graduates and childhood friends. Jim was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Irving, Texas. Jim was a passionate golfer and spent many hours on the green, enjoying the challenge of the sport with his friends and colleagues.
Survivors include his Life partner, Ellen Welsh, sister Mary Alice Osborne (Jerry), sister Sarah Daughety (Mike), Nieces Stacey Wilson, Shelley Melton; Nephews Richie Freestone (Angelica), Casey Osborne, Shane Hoya (Liz) and Lane Melton, in addition to many friends and relatives and his beloved cat GW.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, in Hargrove Hall at First United Methodist Church, 211 E Third Street, Irving, Texas from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm to share some of Jim's favorite foods and remember his life.
