James Duane McDougle, age 78, of Irving, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026. He was born on September 20, 1947.

James was preceded in death by his father, Lehman McDougle; his mother, Shirley McDougle; his brother, Kenny Wilkinson; and his sister, Phyllis Harris.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bertha McDougle; his daughter, Kristi Schaff; his stepdaughter, Lisa Natale; his granddaughters, Sophia Satterfield, Savanna Schaff, and Alexis Natale; his brother, Terry McDougle; and his sister, Becky Gardner.

James graduated from Lawton High School in 1967 and continued his education at Cameron University. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1969 to 1973. Following his military service, James built a long and successful career in the field of communications.

An avid college football fan, James was a loyal supporter of the University of Oklahoma. He found joy in spending time with family and friends and had a deep appreciation for country music. James will be remembered for his dedication to his loved ones, his service to his country, and the warmth he shared with all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
