Jane Ellen Payne McKinney, age 75, died peacefully in Carrollton, TX on July 8, 2022 with her daughter by her side. Jane was born on October 13, 1946 in Winston-Salem, NC. She lived a majority of her life in Greensboro, NC where she raised her daughter and worked as a substitute teacher. In 2009 Jane and her husband moved to Texas to be with their daughter and her family. Jane's hobbies included gardening, crafts, reading, and nature walks. Survivors include her daughter Kim Ready, son-in-law Joe Ready, and granddaughters Kathleen, Ellen and Caroline of Carrollton, TX; her brother Bill Payne and his family of Augusta, Georgia; and her beloved cousin Frank Roesel of Kernersville, NC. Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Bill McKinney and her parents Bill and Mary Payne. As a lifelong Presbyterian, Jane's memorial service will be held at The Nor'kirk Presbyterian in Carrollton, TX on August 6 at 10:00am.
