The Lord called Mother home on November 1, 2026 after 98 years of living on this earth. She was born October 29, 1928 in San Antonio, TX to Preston John Frazier and Jennie Regina Walker Frazier. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61years, William Henry Nieman, Jr., both her parents, her brother, Preston John Frazier, Jr., her son, William Gregg Nieman and her grandson William Preston Wagner.
Jeannine had several connections in life that were very important to her. First of all she loved SMU where she was a Delta Gamma. She served on the National Board of Delta Gamma and was a Golden Mustang. She was active in supporting both these groups for many, many years. Her professional career was in Girl Scouting. She worked for several councils before and after she married and had children. After they retired she and Bill moved to Lake Kiowa where she was very active, serving as president of the property owners association for 6 years, president of the Kiowa Women's Club and the Women's Golf Association. She was on the board of the Frank Buck Zoo, and volunteered with the Morton Museum, the Gainesville Hospital, Cooke County United Way and Butterfield Stage. Jeannine was an excellent bridge player and enjoyed the challenge and fellowship of the game .
Jeannine was a wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother. She always had something fun for the children to do and was great about teaching them family history. Her Easter Egg Hunts at the lake and her Grandmother's Christmas Brunch were some of the highlights of her grandchildren's year.
She is survived by her daughters Nancie Nieman Wagner and Linda Nieman Casto, their spouses, 8 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service in Jeannine's honor will be held in the chapel of Prestonwood Baptist Church on November 12, 2026 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Delta Gamma Foundation to add to the scholarship in her name or to the SMU Libraries.
