Obituary

Jeffrey Sumner Rolings, age 49, died in Dallas, Texas, on January 21, 2025.

Born September 18, 1975, in Falls Church, Virginia, he lived in Dallas for most of his life.

After graduating from J.J. Pearce High School, Jeff earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Roanoke College.

He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Dallas and volunteered at the church and the Operation Kindness animal shelter.

Jeff loved football, dogs, and adored his niece and nephew. He was a fan of James Bond, Wordle, the movie Elf and 1310 The Ticket. He could often be seen wearing his favorite teams' jerseys and had an impressive collection of team hats.

He was loved and will be greatly missed by his mother Kim, his sister and brother-in-law Katy and Ian, his brother and sister-in-law Andrew and Jenn, his nephew William and his niece Eleanor Rose.

Jeff was helpful, kind and had a heart larger than his size.

To celebrate Jeff's life, a memorial mass will be held on February 15 at 11:00 a.m. CT at the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, 14115 Hillcrest Road, Dallas 75248. It will also be live-streamed, the link is provided below. The family asks people to dress comfortably in casual clothing. Jeans, sports t-shirts and jerseys are welcome. Jeff would approve.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the Outreach Endowment Fund at the Church of the Transfiguration at https://www.transfiguration.net/give/ or to Operation Kindness at https://www.operationkindness.org/.
