Mrs. Smith was born in Durant, Oklahoma on November 4, 1927, and was raised in Fort Worth, Texas, where she lived; she died June 11, 2014 in Dallas. She was on the Board of Directors of the Gladney Center, and she was a member of the Fort Worth Woman's Club, Jewel Charity Ball, Dinner Dance Club, and the Fort Worth Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband's Richard M. Fillingim (39 years), Dr. Leroy Bursey, and Dr. R. Donald Smith. Survivors include her daughter Sheryl Crocker and husband David of Dallas, Her son Morgan Fillingim of Fort Worth, 9 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Private memorial service will be held at University Christian Church in Fort Worth. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gladney Center, Cook Children's Fort Worth Medical Center or North Central Texas Chapter - Alzheimer's Association.
