Jerry Wayne Tibbs was born on November 25, 1946, in Waco, TX to Connally and Johnnie Tibbs. He grew up in Abilene, Texas, and graduated from Cooper School in 1965. He obtained a Master's Degree of Science in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.

Jerry enlisted in the United States Army on October 11, 1970, and served his country for 22 years. During his 22 years in the Army, he received many awards and obtained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He traveled worldwide, including Germany, where he met his soulmate, Helga. Jerry married Helga on May 24, 1985, and remained married and dedicated to her until his passing. He retired from the Army on August 31, 1992. He continued his illustrious career while working at several government contracting companies.

After his final retirement, Jerry loved to spend time with his family, including his Children, Grandchildren, and Great-Grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling with his family to Europe and Asia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bill and George. He is survived by his wife, Helga, of 45 years, Daughters Nancy and China, Sons John and Grover, special granddaughter Savannah, and Sister Cynthia Roemisch. In addition, he has many Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren all over the world.

Jerry was the kind of man who never met a stranger, never made a promise that he didn't keep, and always left you better than when he met you.

He truly was loved and will be missed!
