Obituary

Jetta was born on April 7, 1931, in Dallas, Texas to parents of Clarence And Hattie Harris. Nita Faye was Jetta's older sister, and they became best friends quickly. Jetta grew up in Pleasant Grove and went to Pleasant Grove High School, where she met Danny Hoffman and married in 1949. Soon after a son was born in 1950 Richard Allen, and a daughter followed in 1954, Rebecca Danett. Jetta and Dan were cheerleaders in high school, where they met their best friends Betty and Bobby Johnson. They became our second family throughout our lives and shared many happy moments. Jetta worked at Pollock Paper Company and then went into real estate with Betty under Rainbow Realty. Jetta was a fabulous woman, quite a character, and loved going places.

Later in life, she met Dave Franks, and then Dick Robbins who were her life partners. She loved traveling and enjoyed fishing, bingo, casinos, and horse races. She won 3 first-place blue ribbons at the State Fair Of Texas for her craft in Paper Tole. She loved everyone she met, and always tried to help people along her path. It wasn't surprising to get a little gift from Jetta in the mail, whether you knew her well or not. She joined the Lions Club later in life, along with Dick helped many people through that organization. Jetta loved watching Blue Bloods, The Price is Right, The Wall, sports games, and horse races. TV was always on! She also made sure that everywhere she went people knew that she had been on Family Feud game show and showed them her picture. She always said they don't know they're dealing with a TV star.

She is preceded in death by her mother, father, sister, and husband. She is survived by her son, Rick Hoffman, and partner Lorrie Shelton, her daughter and son-in-law, Beckie and Gary McCauley, and her many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She loved her family with all her heart and gave all she had to give.

A special thanks goes out to Tara Savage for her love and care of Mom until her passing.

Glory to God for taking her home as she peacefully slept, on Friday, May 24th. A Celebration of Life will take place on June 29th, 2:00 pm, Laurel Oaks Funeral Home, 12649 Lake June Road, Balch Springs.
