Obituary

Jimmy C. Martin, of Wylie, Texas 67 passed away peacefully in Dallas and went to be with our Lord and Savior January 15, 2018. Jimmy was the 2nd of five children and was born March 4, 1950, in Breckenridge, Texas to Sam Martin Jr and Olive Yvonne Noble Martin. Jimmy was a man that never met a stranger. He loved everyone and would advise and encourage anyone he came in contact with and he adored his family and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather (Paw Paw) to his children. Most of all, he loved his lord and Savior. Jimmy grew up in Snyder and had many friends in this community. Jimmy graduated Snyder High School in 1968. He proudly served his country in the Air Force. He was proud of his service for most of his career in Law enforcement. Jimmy married Shirley Sanders in Sweetwater, Texas November 9th, 1973. Jimmy is survived by his wife Shirley, 3 daughters, Dena Laroux and her husband Thad of New Braunfels, Tx, Heather Price and her Husband Kevin of Wylie, Tx, and Lyndee Cleveland and her husband Ryan of Wylie, Tx. 2 Sisters, Nelda Randolph of Snyder, Samantha Cunningham of Snyder, and 2 brothers, Jerry Martin of Snyder and Billy Martin of Abilene. 9 grandchildren, Cameron, Levin, Devin, Cade, Jordan, Bryce, Skyler, Kya, and Darian. 7 great grandchildren, Jayden, Zuri, Ian, Lilith, Benjamin, Skyler, and Charlie. Also survived by honorary son Rey Mendiola and honorary granddaughters Bella, Mia, and Lilli. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Sam Martin Jr. and Yvonne Martin Willingham, Stepson Roy Boland, and honorary daughter Melissa Mendiola. The family wishes to thank all of the care givers at Faith Presbyterian Hospice in Dallas, and all of the caregivers at Highland Meadows Rehab Center in Rockwall, Texas. A memorial Service will be held January 25th 11:00am at T. Boone Pickens Center, 12477 Merit Dr. Dallas, Texas 75251. Followed by burial service at The Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas
