John Edward Keefe, 87, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on September 1, 2026, after a long and vibrant life.
John was born on December 12, 1938, in Chatfield, Minnesota, the eighth child of Edward and Mary Keefe. He grew up on the family farm alongside his seven older siblings, where he developed the strong family values and hardworking spirit that remained with him throughout his life. He graduated from Chatfield High School in 1957.
John began his successful career in Northern California with Combined American Insurance Company in the early 1960s. Through his dedication and leadership, he earned numerous honors and awards as a regional manager. His professional success was a reflection not only of his work ethic, but also of his ability to connect with and uplift the people around him.
Known for his positive and magnetic personality, he maintained countless friendships throughout his life and was greatly adored by his family. He lived by the philosophy of “PMA!” (positive mental attitude), and frequently sang “I feel happy, healthy, and terrific!” He took great pride in his family and often celebrated his Irish heritage. With his quick wit and sense of humor, John was always ready for a hearty laugh or a harmless prank. His laugh was infectious. He was also an avid runner throughout his life, completing numerous marathons.
John was a devout and prayerful Catholic whose unwavering faith served as a profound example to his family. His faith and devotion were the guiding principles of his life. In his later years, John was rarely seen without wearing his rosary, a visible reminder of the deep faith that sustained him.
John is survived by his wife, Florence; daughters, Ann (Joe) Kupper, Tricia Drucker, and Lisa Smith; grandchildren, Bradley (Jenna), Katie, Jack (Olivia), Claire, Mike (Taylor), Margaret, Lily, Cole, and Sydnie; great-grandchildren, Nora, James, and Georgia; siblings, Helen Texido of Atherton, CA, and Pat (Gretchen) Keefe of St. Charles, MN. Further survived by Florence’s daughter Sophie (Josh) Migliazzo and their children Gabrielle, Alexandre, Enzo, and Clara.
