John Penman Livingstone II passed peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on August 16th, 2023, after a brave battle with cancer. John, affectionally known as "Stone" by his friends and family, grew up in Bloomfield Hills, MI. He attended Cranbrook High School and graduated from The University of Tampa in 1970. After graduation, John went on to enjoy a successful automotive career with Ford International. He then served on the retail side of auto sales in Texas and Santa Fe, New Mexico. After retiring on Lake Jacksonville, he enjoyed a second career as a substitute teacher. Over his professional career, he blessed and influenced many lives. He was a superb leader and a compassionate and caring team member. John was known for his quick wit and love for all animals, as evident in his nickname of St Francis by his family. He enjoyed being with his family and friends and loved retired life on the lake. He reveled in supporting his grandchildren's athletic and academic achievements. He married his beloved wife, Jane in 1969 and celebrated 54 years of marriage this year. John is survived by his wife Jane, his 3 children, Katie Livingstone-Calavan, John Livingstone III, and Brad Livingstone along with their spouses Matt, Jordan, and Jennifer. His grandchildren, Caroline, Grace and Spencer Calavan and Bradley, Jack, Parker, J.P, Madison and Caitlin Livingstone and his sister Erma Jean Tracy. He is proceeded in death by his mother and father, Betty and Jack Livingstone and his sister, Ann. Like St Francis, John will be remembered for always preaching the gospel and using words only when necessary. Services will be held on September 30th, 2023, at 3:00pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Jacksonville, Texas.
