Obituary

John was born in Weymouth, Dorset, England, and received his education at the Thomas Hardy School. After completing high school, he entered an apprenticeship program and graduated as a tool designer. He then worked aboard ships, making stops in ports such as Guernsey and Jersey in the Channel Islands.

In the 1960s, John moved to Dallas, Texas, after American companies began recruiting skilled tradespeople from the U.K. He initially worked at LTV Aerospace before joining Texas Instruments, where he remained employed for 25 years. After leaving Texas Instruments, he took on several contracting positions before eventually retiring.

In retirement, John stayed active by designing and building a large, beautiful deck. He enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including playing darts and, in his younger years, the cornet. A passionate music lover, he had a particular fondness for traditional jazz. He also loved to cook and bake, with a special talent for creating savory hand-held turnover-style pies and artisanal yeast breads.

John will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Anne, and his cherished feline companions.
